New September '21 EYFS Parents and Carers

  • Offers of school places were sent by Bracknell Forest Council on 16th April 2021.
  • You need to accept or decline your offer by 30th April 2021.
  • The deadline for appeals is 18th May 2021.

(Please see further information from Bracknell Forest Council HERE)

Once the deadline for appeals has passed and Bracknell Forest have received all acceptances across the borough, they will confirm who will be joining us in September. We will then contact our new EYFS parents and carers with further information on the next steps. It has been a difficult time to enrol your child without being able to visit the school and ask questions face-to-face so we've built a page on our website HERE that will have a wealth of information, FAQs and an A-Z guide to popular topics. Please keep coming back to see as we will be updating it regularly.

We are looking forward to you and your child joining us in September.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, we contact us using our dedicated email address for new-to-EYFS parents... startingeyfs@whitegroveprimary.co.uk. Please also have a look around our website as it contains a wealth on information such as:

  • the "About us" menu with a virtual tour (with our Year 6 as your experienced guides) and FAQs under "New to Whitegrove?"... along with background information such as the statutory reports/data (eg OFSTED and SATs results), our Staff, Governing Body and policies
  • the "About our day" menu which has information such as our daily lesson structure, assemblies, drop-off/collection, lunches, what to bring, wrap around care and school uniforms (don't buy them just yet!)
  • the "For our parents" menu which includes the Parent Handbook, Useful Links and our wonderful WPFA (our PTA - Whitegrove Parents and Friends Association)
  • the "For our children" menu, offering a taste of home learning (also known as homework!) for all of our year groups.

ASYMPTOMATIC testing for households

For households (including childcare/support bubbles) with primary, secondary or college-age children:

As schools return from 8th March 2021, asymptomatic adults and children of secondary school age and above are able to test themselves at home using Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs) twice every week:

  • See the Department of Health and Social Care's announcement HERE
  • For information on how to get a test pack, click HERE
  • This service is for people WITHOUT symptoms
    • f you have symptoms you must apply for a test HERE and you and your household must self-isolate while you wait for the result
  • Please do not use LFT on children of primary-age or younger.

IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE - click HERE for details on alternative testing.

Testing of SYMPTOMATIC individuals

Anyone showing symptoms, including primary aged children, must take a PCR test and self-isolate with their household while waiting for the result. Children must have a negative PCR result before attending the school site.

Please note that Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs) are not an acceptable test for anyone showing symptoms, as LFTs are intended to be used in asymptomatic cases.

Click HERE to apply for a PCR test online.

Please see Bracknell Forest Council's latest information HERE and flowcharts HERE for an explanation of which test to use.

Test and Trace

The school continues to be responsible for Test and Trace on behalf of the NHS/PHE, so please do contact us if you are testing or you are concerned a member of the household has symptoms.  Email all attendance and medical issues confidentially to secretary@whitegroveprimary.co.uk

Report all positive cases to secretary@whitegroveprimary.co.uk ASAP.  We check this email throughout the day, evening, weekends and start of school holidays as part of our Test and Trace requirement.
